Seniors are being targeted with a scam that involves a letter about your property deed.

People who are over the income cap limit for Medicaid purposes ($2,022 per month) can still qualify for Medicaid benefits if they create a document called a Qualified Income Trust (QIT) and open a supporting bank account. If your loved one has one of these trusts then there may be money left in it when your loved one dies.

Many people believe that if they need to go into a nursing home they will “lose” their personal residence, or will have to sell it in order to qualify for Medicaid assistance. That’s not true in Tennessee.
